I'm Bob, 62 years young and still learning!
I was never one of the cleverest boys in school, but I've got through life pretty ok regardless; worked as an auto mechanic early on, then later as a head caretaker for many years; was lucky enough to retire at 60 with a loving wife, two sons and 3 gorgeous grandkids.
One thing I've always done very well is fix up things around the house; I've always been good at giving things a go and always happy to learn a few tricks and skills where I can.
Now I'm not saying that I'm some kind of natural DIY whizz (far from it!) but I've saved a lot of money over the years by tackling projects myself and fixing things up instead of getting people in or buying new all the time.
More recently, especially following the birth of my grandkids, I don't just do it to save on cash...
...I've been considering the environmental impact of how we treat our belongings in today's 'throw away' society, and how I can do my bit to re-use and repair rather than add to the evergrowing landfill!
Throughout life money's often been tighter than I'd have liked, so I've had to look at alternative options to get the best bang for my buck.
I started up Green Energy Den in 2019... something of a labor of love, and now I run it with the help of my sons to try and let people know the possibilities to save both money and the planet if they just take a bit of time to listen and learn!
I hope you'll find things that'll interest you!
